Director of Global Competence Center PV Modules, TÜV Rheinland

Since 2016, Mr. Jörg Althaus has been the Regional Field Manager for Germany, India, Middle East and Africa for Solar Energy at TÜV Rheinland.

In 2001 he started as a Project Engineer in the PV laboratory in Cologne. Since 2009, he has managed the Solar Energy Business Field and from 2011 to 2017, in his role as Director of Global Competence Center Photovoltaic Modules, he coordinates the PV module testing services with the other TÜV Rheinland laboratories and offices internationally.

Mr. Althaus has presented at various conferences on topics such as PV project risk minimisation and photovoltaic module quality assurance. He is a member of several standardisation committees such as IEC, CENELEC and DKE, where he is particularly active in working groups for flat-plate and concentrating photovoltaic modules (e.g. IEC TC82 WG2/WG7).

He studied electrical power engineering in Darmstadt and Brighton, and holds a Dipl.-Ing.
